You may have noticed I added a search box to my website powered by FreeFind. I don't remember what random links brought them to my attention but they offer to index your site for free. Google offers the same thing but Google does not promise to index your site often if ever. FreeFind does (or at least more than Google)

Of course for searching the net I'd recommend Google but for just personal sites FreeFind is pretty nice. It makes a sitemap for you (though I do that automatically myself also) and it supports <nofollow> / </nofollow> to tell it links not to follow and it supports <!−− Freefind Begin No Index −−> / <!−− Freefind End No Index −−> for telling it sections of your documents not to index.

I like it. It will also give you various statistics like what's been searched for the most etc...
