I’ve pointed out before I think movies and maybe games will be mostly dead in 5 or 10 years as the ability to share them instantly over the net removes any chance of making money from them and cheap home theatre means I don’t have to go to a theatre to get a theatre experience. In that vain things may go more like this.
It’s a movie by Luc Besson made exclusively to promote a new Mazda car
Movies and games (why not music?) won’t be dead in 5, 10 or 50 years, the way they are made, funded and delivered will change to be more like TV though.
BTW: The link isn’t to a movie, it’s to a commercial – they’ve been around for awhile now.
because most music can be made easily. Just a few people and a few hours and if you are talented you can bang out a song. That means even if there was no profit in music people would still make lots of music
Most movies and games though require more like 160000 man hours. Yes there are exceptions, Tetris for a game, maybe something like Clerks for a movie. But most games and most movies require too much time and too many people to make in a world where there is no money to be made from them. So, we’ll still have music.
Yes it’s a commercial but then so is the Matrix selling sunglasses and leather clothes
