I have a discussion class at school which is pretty fun. A few weeks ago I was in charge of coming up with the topic. In my main class we were also each supposed to give a speech. I used the same topic for both.

Actually I'm in school and not working though I will be working one way or another within the next month or so.
I'm going to Kai. They have a speech contest school wide on March 8th and every student is required to write something whether or not they want to appear in the contest. I haven't decided if I want to be in it or not. Monday my class will pick which student will represent our class. There were other students in my class that wanted to present so I feel I should let them as I have no special desire to do so myself but I think I probably have the most interesting speech
What were peoples’ responses to this?
Depending on the country, most of the classmates didn’t know that was what the lyrics of 1/4 of Western pop music is about. But, on the topic of the differences in attitudes/thoughts about sex I didn’t get many responses really. The discussion pretty much broke down into “is sex important”, “which comes first, sex then love, love then sex”. “is sex an expression of love or something else”. etc…
Since that time I’ve talked to one Korean woman who claims that at least in Korea, most people wait till they are married. It’s quickly changing in large part because of cheap video cameras making it easy to make porn and also because of the net making it easy to view porn.
But she also said that public affection of pretty much any kind is not acceptable in Korea. She also said that discussing anything about sex with anybody, even your best friend, is off limits. She showed me an article about the top 5 honeymoon worries for Koreans which were pretty interesting in how big of a culture difference there is between Korea and say most of America.

She claimed that even though this list was printed in the magazine most Koreans would not discuss it with each other. I asked, “you mean if you were in the same room with your bestfriend and you read this you would not ask them about it?” She said basically, yes, she would not bring it up. To bring it up people would think she was a *bad* girl.
