This week, twice, I’ve seen for the first time a portable gas station. Basically a gas tanker truck driving around the neighborhood with a song and a loud speaker like an ice cream truck with a gas pump nozzle on the back of the truck. If you want gas you flag him down and he’ll pull up to your garage/parking space and fill up your vehicle.
Do they have this kind of thing in the states?
That's an innovation we haven't seen stateside yet. In some areas, however (especially where I used to live), they had a system where if people wanted gasoline, they would take a device called a "siphon" and remove a large quantity of fuel from my "car".
Uh, no! Hehe…kinda funny that they play music, like an ice cream truck! Imagine a pack of kids chasing it down the street…LOL!

I was in Nakano-ku in Tokyo. I believe actually the gas might be for heating but I’m not sure.
