Final Fantasy X

Can somebody explain to me why people like Final Fantasy X? I don’t get it. It’s extremely boring. The game play is pointless. It’s not a game. It’s a movie with 20 minute to 2 hour delays between scenes. The game is 100% linear meaning what you make no choices about the progression of the story at all. At least say in FF7 you could choose the order of several of your quests. Not so in FFX. In other words, there is zero point to the game. Might as well have just made a DVD of the movie parts and left the game like time sink out of it. Of course that would make it even more clear just how bad the movie is. Lame story, ridiculous dialog dialog. All it’s got going for it is some neat effects although with CG being old hat now it’s not really all that great. Wanna see great CG. Go see Monsters Inc.

I’m sure there are some people that actually like it but it seems to me quite a few people, possibly more than half, only like it because they have been brainwashed by which I mean they have been told it’s cool and so they just parrot (FFX is cool, much much better than CATS) :-(

    FFX

C’mon Gregg, you’re missing the point. The point of FFX is for fantasy escape. People only buy the game because it’s entertainment, and it lets you feel as if you’re part of the story. Sure it may not be top draw, but for people who like RPG’S it’s got everything anyone can ask for- silly romance, angst, fighting, mystery and maze decription, despite the ‘one road play’ you do feel like part of the game by choosing what/where to say and go. If you ask alot of people, they feel like part of the game, and that’s what counts. That’s why they bought it. If they were graphic’s needy, they would realise that by just looking at it, it’s not all it’s crapped up to be.

Ah, a FF hater huh? One in every group, i see…..

    FFX = bad

It’s not that I hate FF.  As it says above I enjoyed FF7 and FFXI looks like it’s probably fun.

But, to both of the comments below, I don’t understand why people enjoy FFX.  Nicole says “it lets you feel as if you are part of the story” except for me it doesn’t since my actions have no baring on the story.  Either I make to the next point or I die and try again.  In FF7 you could at least choose where you wanted to go so your actions did change the story at least the in order it was told.  Maybe that’s too subtle a difference.  Obviously I like video games and fantasy games so the whole “because it’s entertainment” I understand.  I just personally find FFX to be BAD entertainment.

The most entertaining part of the FF series, at least since FF7, is seeing the amazing attacks and seeing the story progress.  For me though, FFX has very few amazing attacks and the ones they do have are so long that after 3 or 4 times I wish I should just skip them.  That leaves the story except that since the battles are boring the play style is 5 minutes of story, 20 to 60 minutes of boring battles, 5 minutes of story, 20 to 60 minutes of boring battles.  And worse, the story is silly, poorly written, un-interesting.

    title

yeah greg lighten up a ittle, people love these games becaues they can relate to the characters, and coz the game is so long players cant help but get really involed with there lives and there situations and the more you play the game the more the characters change, for better and for worse.

me i loved ff10 ive gotten over 30 pages of cheats and codes for the game (yes i am a ff freak) but the only thing i have to say is bad about ff10 is……….HE SHOULDNT HAVE DIED!!!!!!

FFX is the best of the series

The people who said they hated FFX hate all the FF,there is ‘NO’ hate in FF games, they all share there diffrent aspects no need to put FFX down.FFX is avery good game, its people like you that don’t,FFX was the greatest if not way better then the whole series.

FFX and FFVII are 2 diffrent games(but made by the same company),do not say one is better then the other. This should make it clear…FFX is not a bad game, you just don’t like it because you do not understand it or(even worse) you lack taste!!.No need to put this game down,Squaresoft worked hard and what do they get for it,you idiots complaining about it,fools…hehe

  • greggman
    good taste

FFX has a bad “GAME” and it has a bad “STORY”.  The game is bad because basically there is none.  The game is like lets say your mom told you you could watch the Matrix Reloaded but after 5 minutes she turned it off and said “okay, mow the law, wash the car, clean up your room and you can watch 5 more minutes”  So you do all that which takes you an hour and a half, then you sit down to watch and then after 5 minutes she turns it off again and says “now you have to wash the dishes, clean the bathroom, mop the floors and you can watch another 5 minutes”.

The game itself is not fun.  Watching the same 3 minute attack 20 times in a row in 1 battle and then doing a similar battle 20 times just to get to the next story point, that is not fun.

That leaves only the story, because some people enjoy the story they put up with the unfun game.  Well, come back to it in ten years when you have a little more experience with stories.

In my own life I know that I used to love a TV cartoon called Speed Racer and although I can still watch it because it’s nostalgic for me, now that I’m older I can see it really was crap.  The stories are awful, the dialog atrocious, the logic non existant.

For my nephew that series will be the Power Rangers and Pokemon.  As a kid he thought they were the best things ever but as he gets older, someday he’s going to watch them again with all his wonderful memories and then realize how much utter crap they actually were.  Of course at least Power Rangers will always have it’s campy charm but the stories he remembers being so excited about as a kid he will finally see were actaully in his head, not in the show.

I believe the same is true for much of the FF series as well as several other game stories, MGS and MGS2 come to mind.  Their stories are as bad or worse then the Wing Commander movie.  In many games that’s okay because the game itself is fun.  MGS, Resident Evil, Even Zelda have very simple and or silly stories but the games are good.  FFX has both bad game and bad story.  Instead what it has are lots of hype from Square and lots of pretty graphics.

ffx not as good as any others

I have final fantasy x. I also have all of the others except for ff tactics. This 8, 6 and 2 have been a major dissapiontment. I mean COME ON! take the main boss for example, Sin. You don’t feel as if you want to kill him. Ultimecia (ff8) and Garland (ff1) did a better job of this. If it wasn’t so linear and you could choose where to go it would have been a big improvement. The Spere Grid is the most frustrating way of learning abilities for beginners EVER. I thought Square could have learnt since FF2 to keep the original levelling system. If the vioce acting was better I would have enjoyed it. If your city was getting attacked would you seriosly say “Get Out Of My Town”? I don’t think so.

    FFX, a sad attempt

I was searching the net today, to see if i was the only person who saw FFX as it really was. CRAP. I read along and i noticed some people had the right idea, and some people who posted had no clue. I decided to set everyone straight:

FFX is crap, in the purest sense of the word. I have played all the final fantasies except two and three, and this is by far the worst offered from the main line of the series. There are many flaws, including:

Voice acting – It seems as though Square has created a formula for awkward dialogue. Just take a few people with horribly annoying, unfamilar voices, use them to voice some polygonal figures whose mouths move a mile a minute, and make them pause in the middle of what theyre saying at the worst moments/say “you know” all the time.

Gameplay – The battle system is unique enough, and everyone is customizable, but the battles are the SAME THING EVERY TIME. Every dungeon or area has the SAME BADDIES, just different colors! They dont even have any new attacks or anything, its just the same fight over and over. Its as though square half expected us to think that changing the element of the elemental so it matches the surrounding dungeon its in as “innovation”. The mini-games suck. Dodging lightning. Dodging balls on a chocobo. The arena. I think that speaks for itself. Nothing original, nothing even remotely fun. Wah.

Linearity – This is what kills me the most. You get to Luca, and you want to search around, but you cant. You need to play blitzball first. So you do. You dont see Luca for another thirty hours. Wtf. Then you go back once you get your map, errr…. i mean, “airship”…. and you realize there wasnt much to see anyways. One thing Ive always loved about FF was its cities giganticus. No such thing here. :(

Story – The story sucks ass. Plain and simple. Theres little to no backstory for the supporting characters, they just get thrown into the mix all at once. Side stories and sidequests for the supporting characters are nearly nonexistant also. The main story is lame in a thousand ways. Sin is a lame badguy. Seymour is a lame badguy. They just arent evil enough, they dont cut it. If i were to go on about all the ridiculous concepts in this game, itd take forever, and thats why i dont like it. Also, the whole “spirits” thing has been WAY overdone. The farplane = the mako green goo in ffvii = the path of souls in ffix = the spirit goo in Final Fantasy: The Spirit Within = etc….

All in all, the gameplay is boring, the voice acting sucks, its too linear, and the story is either beyond being cliched or trying too hard to be original. DONT GET ME WRONG, its not a total waste of time if  youve never played a Final Fantasy game, but its just not good enough to be Final Fantasy.

  • sprog

all u people who say FFX is a bad game are wrong u never gave the game a chance. i think FFX is a great game cos u have a lot to do like side games like blitzball & meet new people along the way & having the voices give it an extra boost to the game. so since you think FFX is crap i’d like to see you do better.

  • dave

The whole point of Final Fantasy games is the storyline. You say that in FF 7 (for the record i love that game)you could choose what to do but at the end of the day the game wouldnt progress until you had gone from point A to point B. The same as FF 10 really, although there are less sub games and stuff in FF 10 there are some and it has been made well in my opinion.

The only thing I would have liked them to change would be to add more emphasis to the Tidus-Yuna relationship so that the end is more emotional. (It was def more depressing when Aeris died in FF 7)

  • satsui
    perhaps it was too linear

For those of you complaining about the voices. One simple answer: Japanese. Play it in Japanese and the voices go exactly with their mouth movement. Storyline you have to admit was good, although a little too linear and you couldn’t really choose exactly what to do. Only one thing I really hated about it was the stupid Sphere Grid. By the time I figured it out I restarted the game, and I was bored of the game so I didn’t finish it for another year.

  • http://eh Jimbo

most rpg’s claim to have a wide variety of paths, but end up at the same finish line.

I hate having the main character a sword user. Its so generic and predominant in the FF series. except for one of em… i forget. I want to see a main character that uses a scythe. scythes are the coolest.

  • KAngDRew
    Not horrible and not great…….

I am going to say that the whole series is starting to bother me. I get really tired of all of these love stories, and all of the storylines that are really obivious and so predictable.

I have played every Final Fantsy game besides the new one which is 11 but Final fantasy 10 could have been one of my least favorites of the series. But final fantasy X-2 is the worst

of all because of the shitty voice acting mainly. It almost sounds like its a fucking kids show most of the time or some stupid Charlies Angel episode and its really predictable I bought the game when it was first released and i was totally disappointed.

Even though it was non-linear with multiple endings I don’t see myself playing it ever again. I have to say final fantasy 10 destroyed that game because the story was a little better and some of the

characters in 10 I thought was ok. I admit that I played 10 and beat it twice but not my favorite.

Its not like 7, 8 , and 9 that inspired me to play all of the series. Those games really sucked me in and are TRUE Final Fantasys

  • Eric

Oh, I don’t think it really sucks – in fact, I enjoyed it a lot. Maybe I’m just not old enough to appreciate “old-skool” type games as much, so I get sucked in to these new ones, despite people shouting that they’re more movie than game. Battles were fun, difficulty was better than braindead easy games like FFVII (although I love that game, it IS damn easy.) My only problem is the storyline and the sidequests. The sidequests are just lame and annoying, plain and simple, which unfortunately means that when you’re done with the game, you’re done with the game. I did manage to fight a lot of the battle arena fights where you’re doin’ 99999 dmg to these badass looking monsters, but even that was lame and repetitive because ya gotta run around trying to catch certain monsters.

And the story…well, I liked it at first. Then I just realized that it got too complicated for its own good. The final boss isn’t even a BAD guy, for chrissakes; he’s just some soulless thing that’s been sitting in Sin for however many years. The whole storyline ended up being a transparent attack on organized religion anyhow, and while I’m not particularly religious myself, the whole conspiracy of Yevon thing was a little weird. And so many people being dead (unsent) - gimme a damn break.

    Otherwise – fun game.

  • Jeanaika

alam mo ba?alam ko namang hindi mo ako maiintindihan!kaya kahit anong sabihin ko, you’ll never get my thought..anyway, about final fantasy hindi po sya boring…and it never will..kaya kung wala kang magawa sa buhay mo kundi manira, magpakatiwakal ka nalang,,gago!!

  • LordKrazy
    Awesome

I have no life… but I think FFX is awesome. Or at least the first time round, then it gets a little boring… but I still play it mainly because I have one goal in that, to get my aeons to the max everything. I don’t play often anymore though but it’d be something to get them all up to max

  • amethystnights
    get it right

    to anon_haf

my first point is if you were paying any attention at all you would have heard them say that the pyreflies were just that. not spirits. they are creatures(? I dont know what to call them) that reflect the mind’s thoughts of the dead.

and also… no backround story?! what about the flashbacks to Tidus’ childhood, the spheres with braska’s pilgramige, the story about Lulu’s two previous summoners, Wakka’s one previous summoner and Chappu, Kimahri finding Yuna on Mt. Gagazet and taking her to Besaid and her growing up with Wakka and Lulu like siblings?…. I could go on and on….

please the next time you decide to badmouth a game, please bother to get your facts straight

  • Britty
    U R SO RONG!!

What is rong with you final fantasy rocks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

thats all i have to say

  • FFFantatic
    FFX=Good

For all the people out there that dont think final fantasy 10 rocks, i just have to say im very dissipointed in you all.

I also have to say that Britty is entirely right (below)

  • Yggdrasil
    Wtf?

The game was awesome, ya? I enjoyed all of the scenes. I was playing just to find out what happens next. It what keeps me interested in the game. I’m a curious person I like to see what happens next. If you think the game is boring, you are stupid, ya? Now if you said X-2 sucked, then I could understand. X-2 is quite dissapointing. The battle style in the X-2 allows the enemies to attack you while you are still selecting your attack.

  • http://blog.greggman.com greggman

I was playing just to find out what happens next.  It what keeps me interested in the game. I’m a curious person I like to see what happens next

Then maybe you should have watched a movie if you were just playing to see what happens next.  It sounds like you didn’t enjoy the game, it was just in your way to see the next piece of movie.

  • JustMee

I love The way they made the Game there is alot of things side quests that are fun not to mention rikku’s ability to customize wepons and with the spear grid you can choose what kind of skills abilitys you want your characters to learn and rikku’s mix list figuering out all the diffrent items you can mix I learned all the combos with out looking at a chart as a matter of fact I kept my own journal of diffrent items and that alone gives you tons of fighting time cause you have to have the items to mix so I had to go around to diffrent areas fighting to obtain the items and BlitzBall was a challenge kind of still is but I keep trying to get better it was the best final fantasy game I ever played that and 8 are the 2 most recent games I enjoyed for the artistic beauty displayed in them my opionon of the game is it has great graphics, music a beautiful story and lots of great battles I honestly feel bad for people who can’t see a good game or who just would rather play a game with no story its like living life for no reason every thing has to have a purpose or what is the point

  • Ralnir
    WHAT? Blasphemy.

I can understand what you say about FF, I think there’s hardly any good FF games except for 2/5 an’ 3/6. But MGS/MGS2?! I’ve lost faith in you.
    :(

    hahahhabalahhablahablah

the people that say FFX is good are people that truly aren’t gamer critics… FFX was a big disappointment… well a better word is that it was a change, it changed a lot from its roots. For people that have played all the FF games… they’ll be disappointed because the originals were way better and more challenging and it wasen’t set with the cheezy dialogs and the shi**y voice acting. Sure, the graphics are better but that truly is a minor detail that tied the game a little bit. On the other hand if you like FFX, I’d suggest you go play the originals because they won’t waste your time, they’ll involve you in the story a LOT more than 10. In 10 you can relate somewhat, I guess. But it just wasen’t entertaining. FFX was targeted towards a smaller audiences, who would find most of this quite artisitic. In the end its just a difference of opinion in the matter… for people that say FFX was good… try the originals you won’t be disappointed.

  • Steve

Your inability to correctly spell dialogue is what most fascinates me, as well as for some reason your intense need to type it twice.

This is a brilliantly involving game which, for any human being who is even remotely in touch with their emotions and not completely dead inside, thoroughly enjoyable.

  • anonymouskid
    FFX

Geez people, chill. It’s just a game, that’s all. I have FFX and played it. Compared to a lot of other games, it’s not at all that top notch. I didnt like it very much and i dont hate it either. I thought that the story wasnt as good as some of the past FFs. I thought that there would be more. The battle system isnt that great either. But you know. It’s a video game and it’s entertainment. Nothing to get personal about. I dont care if people are dissapointed in me for not liking a certain game. It’s silly.   It’s all just enterntainment after all.

  • littlekiddy
    yeah

i agree, but ffx realy sux in comparison to the others and tidus is such a pussy

  • MJ
Can somebody explain to me why people like Final Fantasy X?

I liked it because of the characters and the story. Some people may hate the story and think it’s crap but that’s the reason I liked it. And the voice acting compared to some of the other games out there is good. The whole thing about playing and then seeing 5 more minutes of the story is how I feel about a lot of RPGs that I’ve played. Final Fantasy 7, 8, and 9, etc. I really don’t enjoy the battles and leveling up becuase it feels like a chore so I can understand. I like games where you’re more involved in the battles like Kingdom Hearts but also games where you’re not just pushing the X button. I played this one game and I could literally read a book while I was in the battle, that’s not good. But back on FFX. I really got attached to the characters especially Yuna and her selflessness. So that’s the reason for me. I was disapointed that once you get their special weapons and you get all the Aeons the final battles seemed too easy. I guess even though the game wasn’t perfect I still found that most of the time I enjoyed the game so I can’t say that’s it’s crap. There are some other games I could gladly call crap that don’t put any effort at all or at least don’t seem to into it but I can’t for this one. It just sounds too harsh.

  • wow
    c’mon now guys

I really don’t know why all of you complain and argue so much. It’s kind of immature. When it comes down to it–whether you like the game or not–it is a matter of opinion. I played the game as well as most of the other ff series, and I thought it was great. I can see where people would say the voices were corny, and also how you didn’t get to decide how it ended. I, on the other hand, still thoroughly enjoyed it. Also you can’t criticize someone for liking a game just because you think it’s stupid. That just makes you ignorant. Also ffx was the first ff I played. It got me hooked onto all of the other ones. I personally think the sphere grid was pretty damn easy to figure out, and kind of a sweet way of customizing. Other people like the previous ff way of leveling better. It’s all a matter of opinion. In my opinion though, FFX rocks!!!

  • blabbler
    final fantasy 10 sucked

your right, it does suck, it started going down hill from there! As for final fantasy 7, they’re going to remake it. I hope to god that its not going to be like 10

  • mesoKAWAIIOtakusunited
I used to think it was gay…then i played it

WHAT THE HELL…I loved it and i did not parrot, in fact, i have not met one person who has ever played that game(other than me XD) and when some random randomly brought it over after just buying it i tried it AND I LOVED IT, that game is yet another miracle coming from the japanese game industry, and if people think it is gay, why would they bring out a sequel if it was SOOOOO bad…honestly, and the movie-ness was simply geourgeous(though it did have it’s tedious bits when you died and had to do it again)

  • LIstless
    yep its a bad one

I still can’t fathom how anyone can say that FFX had a good story, that was the most boring story and characters of all the FF games. All it really had going for it was graphics. It was a game that was made to suck in a larger audience in my opinion by having the linear path and graphics and basically having a simplified boring story that you could figure out the ending and the identity of the main boss after the first 3 minutes. Last thing was just how easy it was, that game didn’t take any extra leveling or skill in beating, maybe has something to do with the character switching in battle i dunno, but it didn’t take any thought on strategy to beat any boss. Its nice to see that people agree on how bad it was considering when u check any review of the game and it had such high ratings. To the people that say the story was good, explain why exactly. To me the story was as much a waste of money as the FF movie spirits within.

  • colin

Finally someone who shares my sentiments!

    The (well, My) case against:

    1. Yuna whines and whines and whines and whines and never stops. Her voice “acting” only makes this worse. The dialogue is just poorly written in general.

    2. The story is really bad. It has only one interesting piece in its whole length. To paraphrase it: go somewhere, get an aeon. go somewhere, get an aeon. go somewhere, get an aeon. oh crap seymore! go somewhere, get an aeon. go somewhere, get an aeon. oh crap seymore! (repeat another couple times). OH MY GOD I’M A DREAM! (fin). In the meantime, yuna WILL NOT SHUT UP.

    3. The gameplay is completely linear. I can see that this would be ok, if the story was good, but it wouldn’t be great (for the expectations of a FF fan). Really this is the least of my complaints, though that doesn’t mean it’s a small one. When playing a RPG i like to feel that i’m in some sort of control of the Role i’m Playing (instead of the role playing me). Otherwise it’s hard to consider the game as an RPG… it’s more of an interactive adventure movie, like Devil May Cry or Half-Life 2 (except those games were good).

    The case for:

    1. Although easy and repetitive, the combat is pretty good. I would have seriously appreciated the ability to skip past summoning cinematics though (maybe i missed a setting somewhere…?)

    2. Graphics look good.

(wow this is an old thread)

  • Nick
Opinions arn’t facts, just because you like/dislike doesnt mean your right

I’ll admit, the final fantasy series ARE NOT the best RPG games. In my opinion the best role playing game is Baldurs Gate II Shadows of Amn for the pc its a beast everybody should buy it if you dont have it as soon as you go out of your house, or if you already have it play it again and dont rest for 72 hours, just keep playing. If you havent heard of it before go search it on the internet, IF ITS CHOICE you want….it has it. you literally get to choose EVERYTHING (obviously there has to be a general goal and a main mission to complete otherwise it would be random and inchoherant) but you get to choose your characters abilities, race, style of fighting, weapons it can use. You can literally KILL anybody that you dont like the look or sound of there are literally no restrictions if you want to attack a city and its guardsmen and its mayor then do it, dont hold back, i have honestly completed the game about 23 times now and everytime it has been different, i have chosen different people to play the game with (different party members there are lots to choose from) and different party members have different quests and objectives and there are so many ways you can achieve those goals you can choose to ally with a character and help them or you can choose to take a reward from the council for killing them for example.

Ok so back to my main point, although the FF style of gaming i have problems with, i will still maintain that FF is incredible, it isnt sophisticated wheras baldurs gate is the most sophisticated RPG i have ever played, but it doesnt need to be sophisticated. IT IS FANTASY it has so much random, radical ideas and concepts i mean a CHOCOBO a racing bird lol, final fantasy x i thought was awesome 7 is my favourite, i can appreciate that X has a very rigid plan to the game, it is all set out and you have literally no impact on how the game is played…and imagine what thats like for me when im used to Baldurs Gate where you can literally play God and decide how problems are resolved…well i get over it because the environments of FFX are amasing and the story is so crazy and imaginative a summoning girl who goes to these awesome and rare temples to pray for a new aeon…..its only FF that can get away with such crazy ideas, the sound track is brilliant, the graphics for its time were brilliant, the cut scenes are imense the first ‘Blitzball’ scene, that outdoes alot of xbox 360 graphics.

YES there are flaws in the gameplay, yes it is Rigid, yes it is quite basic as a game….However FF is always Unique, it is always for me amising to play because it allows you to imagine (i dont agree with the ‘you feel like your part of the game’ because i never feel like im part of a single player game only a multiplayer game) but i definitely think its the power of imagination and emotions in FF that make them awesome.  So fine, if you dislike FF or just dont like FFX thats fine, have your opinion, but understand that it is JUST an opinion because the game has made millions so there must be alot of people that find it enjoyable wether you think it shoud be or not.

    Depressing (spoilers)

Some aspects of final fantasy X i love. I actually like all the playable characters, which is unusual in that all the other ff games ive played, 7,8,9, 10-2 & 12, theres always been someone i hated. The combat system is quite good although against regular monsters it gets a little repetative. I like the sphere system, although why rikku (after the moonflow area where she joins full time) starts off with such low stats only a few active nodes AND has to get more ap than nearly everyone else to get a single sphere lvl is beyond me…

For me the real problem comes from the storyline, its just too damn depressing. Up untill operation Mi’ihen its a new and exciting world that your exploring along with Tidus. After that ill fated battle everything get bogged down in melancholy. Seymour kills his father – cool makes him really evil, apart from it makes Yuna a real glum person to be traveling with, waffling on about marriage and such like. When she starts getting over that iffy situation Home gets attacked, depressing even the ever happy-go-lucky Rikku for a while AND Tidus finds out that yuna will die if she calls the final aeon depressing everyone. Off to Bevelle for Yuna and Seymours wedding (who the hell goes through a wedding just to try and send someone?? And what kind of special evil psycho does it take to marry the person who killed you in Macalania?!?!?!) After a touching scene with Yuna and Tidus in Macalania its off to the calm lands by which point catching monsters seems out of place in relation to the storyline, with everyone nearly crying that they’re getting near Zanarkand and the end of the journey. Sob Sob, oooo ive bred a new monster, ITS ALIVE!!! Then its off to Gagazet where Kimahri fights to reclaim his honor. A slightly more positive note apart from the ever present sad music the ronso’s seem to to love on their mountain home, at least untill Seymour hints that hes butcherd most of them at least. I’ll be honest ive never made it much further than Zanarkand as i probably would have had to kill myself if i had as it just proves too much for this sensitive soul. But I do know most of what happens, like tidus finding out that he and his father were just dreams of the fayth made real by coming to spira, yeah that cheers me up! After some other bosses and such like its the big finale Sin is destroyed once and for all Hurrah! Spira is free and to top it off Yuna survives! Is all the unhappyness over……well no because the fayth fades..and the aeons! Bahamut, Shiva Nooooo!(they were my favourite) Oh yeah and to top it all Tidus fades away too! Sigh. Although they do give us one glimmer of hope, right at the end of the credits Tidus rises up out of the water. Although theres no scene after that when hes reunited with Yuna, so you can never really know its a scene that happends after the battle with Sin unless you want to play final fantasy X-2 all the way through, completing 100% of it to get the happy ending……hmm i might just watch it on youtube and grab my copy of good old final fantsy 7! Or maybe I will force myself to finish this game once and for all just so i can say its done. Im getting near Zanarkand so I’ll see if chanting its only a game, its only a game will help! Well thats my rant over, thanks for reading if you made it all the way down here without cursing my name for not saying ffx is the best!

    Im still pissed off

Not really, but glad im not the only one who hates this game. I didnt mind their unique attempt make their game interesting. but once i was playing the game for a few good hours, i just wouldnt want to fight the final boss.

I went in grueling minutes listening to terrible voice actors (especially the girl protagonist, remember the lame and untimely “ok” in some parts in the game?) and couldnt take it no more.

    oh yeah, lame story too

    as my name states

FFX is a linear action game and hardly the type of RPG I was used to playing before X was released. The games feels nothing like any RPG I’ve played and the whole thing Final Fantasy’s devs are doing is just making pretty games and not awesome stories like they used to in FF1, 2/4, 3/5, 7,8,and 9.

X just fell out of the Traditional RPG class I grew up to and loved very much. Make X the way preX was and I may enjoy it.

I lost interest in the FF series after X has been released and most likely will never buy another FF game again.

I still have all my PRE X titles. Heck, I am playing FF2/4 for the snes atm.

Yeah X had some pretty cutscenes, but what else? Combat was repetitive as hell, the worst case of pallete swap that comes to mind, bland scenery (hate FF8 all you want but at least it had some impressive locations), almost zero exploration, few and annoying sidequests, bland characters (only Auron, Wakka and Lulu are somewhat fleshed out) the Tidus/Yuna relationship wasn’t any less tacked on than Squall/Rinoa, maybe even worse. Blitzball was slow and clunky. I’m no real fan of ff8 but i can’t see why people adore X so much when 8 is a more rounded up game, even the fanbase crazed 7 is better than X. Decent in its own, but X feels so like an half-assed game compared to other games in the series, also considering the ps2 was much more powerful than psone
