Essay Answers:

Try to describe the type of person you might be interested in meeting? (either romantically or platonically)

Smart, Intelligent, likes to have witty conversation, cute, fun to be with, likes to play.

Describe your personality type? What type are you attracted to?

Me, I'm generally a very talkative guy once I get to know somebody a little. In the past I've been very introverted but every year I get more and more aggressive. As someone once told me, what do I care what other people think?

What's the FIRST thing others notice about you?

My Big Smile. I often find it impossible not to smile. If you ask me to keep a straight face I can't do it. I'm a very honest person but if I was on trial for something there is no way I could keep from busting out laughing and therefore making myself look guilt.

What would be a perfect 1st date? Would you take the initiative & pay?

I have no problem paying but I'd prefer to go dutch. It's not a money thing. It shows me my date isn't just out for a free dinner. The very first date I think should be simple. Why get all worked up for something special when you have no idea if you are even a match. Or to put it a better way, if you go someplace really fancy you might end up talking yourself into something you're not really happy with a few hours or days later. So, my perfect date would be just to meet for coffee or lunch and if t here is some mutual interest then things would progress to bigger and better dates.

Where have you met most of your current friends? If you could choose the ideal friend, what would he/she be like?

Most of my current friends I met through work or from school. I actually still have several close friends that I met in Junior High School so when the author of Stand By Me says "you never had friends like you did when you were 12" I say "Oh yes I do, I still have them". I'd love to spend time with my best friend and they'd love to spend time with me. Truly I want my best friend to be my lover. Someone I can talk to about ANYTHING. And someone I can do everything with. In otherwords we like general ly similar things. It would suck to have to go to an amusement park withouy my best friend or a movie or to an exotic restaurant alone because they don't like that kind of stuff. I can't imagine having a BEST friend that didn't like to do most of the things I like to do.

What type of work do you do and are you enjoying it? For how long?

I'm a kick-ass video game programmer. I've been doing it for 19 years, 16 of those professionally. I know quite a few people in my industry and I'm pretty damn good at what I do. Do I enjoy it? Most of the time. I will say that it is both easy and hard work. It's easy because hours are lax. It's easy because the work environment is usually pretty laid back. I have toys on my desk and nice equipment. I can listen to music and play games once in a while. On the otherhand we often have deadlines a nd when we do we often work 7 days a week until late at night. It would be nice to avoid those parts but making video games is also a personal expression. It's our creation and so we want it to be the best. We want others to enjoy it. We want to see reviews that say our game is one of the funnest games they've ever played and so that's why we put the work in.

Favorite pastime? Hobby? Diversion? Just what goes on Sundays at your place?

I don't do all that much at home so on weekends, if I can, I go out. Usually some kind of shopping or I hang out with friends at a restaurant and/or go see a movie. My hobby right now is learning Japanese and I'd like to do it more. I've been studying for about 3.5 years and spent 9 months in Japan. I feels really good to speak another language. I hope I can get fluent and I think someday I'd like to learn another. Maybe Chinese.

What comedians, TV shows or movies match your sense of humor?

Well I have no problem watching Beavis and Butthead, Simpsons or South Park. I love them all. I like Kids in the Hall and Mike Meyers and the Tick. I loved Raising Arizona, Moonstruck, Vampire's Kiss and Cold Blooded. There are times though were I just don't get it. I'm sorry but I didn't get Pulp Fiction nor did I get GO. Maybe I just haven't done enough drugs to get it (i.e. None!).

List some of your favorite lines from movies / poems / songs.

boom...ba da da da da boom .. ba da da da da boom ...

Name some of your favorite Actors ? List a few of your all−time favorite movies.

I like people that can play characters. For example Barbara Hershey or Tim Curry. Although I enjoy many superstars it's gets old to see them as themselves in yet another movie. For example Bruce Willis or Will Smith always play the same characters. Some of my favorite movies are, Blade Runner, Brazil, Say Anything, Kiki's Delivery Service, Das Boot, Swingers.

Name some of your favorite Singers and Bands ? What type of music do you enjoy? Do you go to concerts / performances? List performances you have attended.

I pretty much like some of all music except country. I listen to dance, techno, alternative, pop, swing, lounge, bossa nova, jazz. You name it. My absolute favorites would probably be Depeche Mode and Pizzicato 5 and Cibo Matto. There's really nobody quite like either of them unlike say 75% of all bands on KROQ which sound indistiguishable. I haven't been to many live performances but I'd definately like to go to more.

What kind of magazines/newspapers/books do you read? Favorite authors?

My favorite author to date would be Orson Scott Card. If you haven't read Ender's Game I dare you to start. You won't be able to put it down. Even my Mother couldn't stop and she's not in the least bit interested in Sci-Fi. As for magazines I don't read anything regularly but I pickup computer mags and video game mags once in a while. Although I sometimes look at magazines like GQ, Details, Maxim etc they scare me because they are all "do this to be cool, don't do it and you suck." For the same re asons Cosmo really turns me off.

Which radio stations do you most often listen to? Any favorite DJ's?

KROQ, Y107, The Beat, NPR and a few others. I like to listen to NPR stories and interviews and other programs but when it gets a little TOO out there I switch to something else. I usually listen to my own music. As for DJs if I ever got filthy rich I'd start 2 or 3 stations privately funded by me and have no commercials and no DJs except maybe to tell you what song just played so you can go get it if you want.

What's printed on your favorite T−shirt?

Have you ever read the Happy Mutant Handbook? It says, "why pay somebody to advertise for them. Make your own logos and wear them." Therefore most of the time my T-shirts say nothing unless they are related to my job or something I just thought was really cool. I have one that says "Got Rice?" with a picture of a rice cooker on the back. That's cool. Unfortunately the place I got it from is not cool.

What were your favorite toys as a child?

LEGOS!! What else would it be? You can create your own toys with legos. They RULE!!! I wish Mindstorms had been available when I was a kid. I can't wait to see what kinds of things the kids that are playing with them now make when they grow up. Of course I still collect some toys. I have about 60 stuffed animals including a 10 foot tall giraffe.

When you were a child what did you hope you would grow up to be?

Well from about 1st grade through maybe 8th grade I wanted to be an astronomer. I thought the pictures of nebula and stuff on the astronomy books were way cool. Around 8th grade I got into computers and soon started programming them and making my own games and stuff which led me into my current carrer. All through high school I thought I was going to start my own video game company with my friends. I've tried a couple of times. I suspect I'll try again.

Do you collect anything? (e.g. stamps, coins, dust, losers)

I collect a little too much. I collect watches. I like them to be less than $100 and preferably alot less. I have about 45 of them. I really don't understand why somebody would pay $200 to $2000 for a watch when there are so many nice watches for under $100. I collect movies. I've probably got about 200. I collect video games but I try to keep it to fun, different or exceptional in some other way. Right now I'm collecting sleeping bags but I didn't really plan that one. I've got 4. I also colle ct cables but not by choice. It just kind of happens. Stereo cables, video cables, phone cables, adapter cables, power cables, cable cables.... I collect CDs too. I think I have more than 600.

What were your favorite subjects in school? Where did you attend High School and / or College?

Science, Computers, Physics and Philosophy would be my favorites. Those were probably the only classes where I learned anything interesting. English, Math, History, Not much there but I suppose more inspired teachers could have changed that. I went to Magnolia High School in Anaheim and I attended BYU in Utah.

If you have any pets, what are they and what are their names?

I have a pet toe. His name is Franky because he's got Frankenstein marks. I had several pet rug bunnies but my new apartment isn't the right environment for them so I had to give them up. My tapeworm seems to be doing well. Once in a while when I burp he says high 😊 I'm basically a dog person. I LOVE DOG! Big ones especially. I used to like cats too but recently got alergic to them 😞

What personal habits of others really irritate you?

When someone coughes on me that's yucky. I get really irritated when people that are depositing money at an ATM stand at the ATM (or park infront of the ATM to fill out their form while others are waiting) Hello? You could do that somewhere else and let other people use the machine.

What *is* 'SEXY'?

Well it's a 4 letter word. Sexy is the woman I'm in love with. Smart is sexy. When I find out a woman is intelligent my love meter shoots up a few marks. When I'm not in love sexy is Janet Jackson, Mira Sorvino and China Chow. I'm not sure Ms. Janet is smart. Mira Sorvino is supposed to be very smart. China Chow played a very smart woman in the Big Hit. Sandra Bullock also played a very smart and therefore sexy women in Love Potion #9. Sexy is clothing. They can be very revealing but bare Naked ness is rarely sexy.

Which virtues give you most of your self confidence?

I'm smart. I'm doing much better than most other people in my career. I'm pretty damn good at what I do. I'm pretty self-aware and generally very considerate. By that I mean usually think of other people when I do or plan something. Of course that also means I tend to get a li ttle bent when others don't consider me but then I'm getting better at that.

What do you think caused your previous relationship / marriage to fail?

My very last relationship was in Japan and the reason it didn't really even start is beause we really had almost nothing in common. The previous relationship to that which I'd actually call a serious relationship is a real real long story but the easiest answer is that I had the opportunity to go to Japan BEFORE we got serious feelings and when it came time to decide, stay or go, I chose stay and she then chose for me to go because she felt it was too big an opportunity to give up and that I'd always ha ve second thoughts. She was right of course but that just meant I had second thoughts that I should have stayed.

If you could change one thing about yourself, what would it be?

To be extremely outgoing and confident. It's something that may yet happen.

What would you like for your birthday?

Peace, Love and great sex. I have no clue. It's not like I need anything material for my birthday. I great party with my friends. Some special dinners. A trip to Vegas. Alot of surprises. The perfect girlfriend.

You have just won a state lottery for $115 million. (It could happen!) What would you do with it? And where?

That's a hard one. I think I'd finish my current project because it is partly my expression. I'd buy a nice house and nice car. Then I'd travel alot. I'd probably go back to Japan to study some more. I might travel around Europe for a few months. Other than that I might try to fund a few startups.

What's your dream car and its color?

I think my dream car would be custom made. It would have a kick'n stereo. It would go very fast. It would probably have 4 doors though and have a big trunk but it would drive like a sports car and be manual/stick. Color would be white, red or black. I really think I'd like to have several cars if I was independantly wealthy. One or two sports cars. A large sedan. An SUV and/or mini van. A jeep and maybe a convertable. Can you put all that in one car?

If you could pick one super−human power (such as comic−book characters have) what would you choose?

I'd want to be plastic man or clayface. One of those guys that can mold themselves into any shape. To me that's just sooo damn kinky.

I wouldn't know the name. I'm currently wearing Boss something. If you smell like plumarias then you'll remind me of my grandmother. note: that's not a bad thing. She's super cool.

Have you ever accomplished anything that got your name on television, radio, in a magazine or newspaper? What was it you did?

All the time. I make video games and my games get featured in magazines and newspapers and sometimes on television. My name on the otherhand less so. In high school though I did do some cool visual hacks that had a feature page in a computer magazine and I've written a few letters and articles that have been published.

Write your own personal ad as it would appear in the personal section of a newspaper?

Man of your dreams SEEKs woman of my dreams. Must be smart, cute, rational, fun, silly, like exotic foods and don't get embarrased easily. Don't let this once in a life-time opportuniy pass. If you knew what you were missing you'd be jealous.

What are some of your lifelong goals? Where would you like to be tomorrow? Where would you like to be in 2 years? In 5 years?

Tomorrow I'd like to be finished with my current project. Unfortunately it will take another 6 months. Another place I'd like to be tomorrow is in the arms of the love of my life. In 2 years I'd still like to be there. In 5 years I'd like to be there but more often 😊 In 5 years I'd also like to have a few million in the bank. Few million what I'm not saying.

What do you have hiding under your bed ?

Stacks and stacks of ranchy porn of course. Oh, and a few pieces of luggage. Maybe a rug bunny that's hiding from me and that matching sock I can never find. I think I cleaned up all the blood so I don't think there is any of that left under there.

If you could 'Do Lunch' with anyone, list a few.

"Do Lunch". I would like to Do my lover but I don't think I want to Do Lunch. If I could have lunch with anyone? God. I'd ask him what it really is all about since nobody really seems to have a clue.
