This seems like something out of a Scifi movie. It’s a gadget you hold up to your eye, look for a star in the sky and it will tell you about that star supposedly including all kinds of info, even audio. You can also request a star and it will guide you to it. Its memory is upgradable and its got an SD slot for even more data.
To bad they don’t have video of how it actually looks inside while using it.
That is like amazing! I bet it would be really cool for a quiet night. Tech is evolving so much. Better than sliced bread!
it sounds like the optics are not connected in any way to electronics. So you would just be looking through a simple telescope. The electronics sound like there must be a gyro-enhanced orientation sensor (maybe like this http://www.microstrain.com/manuals/3DM-GFAQ.pdf) plus a GPS. The electronics just figuire out which way the thing is oriented and where you are and prints text on the lcd and plays audio. Just a guess…
I wonder how this would work in the starless Saitama sky…?
Fantastic device! I love that. Very good for any astronomer’s.
This gadget is very neat technology, but since the “eyepiece” is just a piece of plastic, it won’t let you see anything more than you see with your naked eye. All this does is replace a star atlas. Which is nice, but $400 is about $350 too much to charge.
