Sushi refers to the method used in Japanese cooking dealing with seasoned rice.
Sashimi = raw fish it literally means it.
I hate seafood but I will eat sushi, there are tons that have no sashimi in them what so ever

Did you even read the caption? It says sushi does not equal raw fish, notice the little ! (not) symbol before the = (equals)
Sashimi does not literally mean raw fish either. Raw fish would be nama-sakana. Sashimi means “cut body”, sashi = cut/stabbed, mi = body. There’s nothing in the world sashimi that suggests fish. In fact you have have sashimi horse, beef and chicken here in Japan. Sashimi chicken (which is made from raw chicken) was a little scary at first with all we’ve been told about the evils of raw fish but I ate it anyway and it was good
By the way, I’ve actually met a few Japanese that don’t like nama-sakana and therefore they don’t eat sashimi or much sushi. Me on the other hand, after 3 yrs here I just started liking Uni (sea urchin) which seems to be most Japanese favorite kind and one of the most disliked by non-Japanese. I guess that means I’m turning Japanese.
